As a Front-End Web Developer you work in a highly creative, collaborative, and agile environment. You have a passion for the web and the skills to create future-friendly websites using the latest techniques and most importantly, follow industry standards. You are comfortable delivering projects under aggressive timelines while maintaining a high degree of quality. You work in a team environment and are part of an integrated agency. You have a passion for delivering the highest quality creative and are immersed in the digital creative community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Think, respect and develop with web standards
  • Deep knowledge of WordPress and building custom theme-based websites
  • Construct websites by hand-coding, clean, organized, and structured HTML/XHTML, CSS and PHP
  • Experience de-bugging cross-browser issues and troubleshooting WordPress themes/plugins
  • Deploy websites from staging server to live environment
  • Provide support for ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting of existing websites
  • Familiarity with Git code management (Bitbucket)
  • Assist Marketing Team with HTML email development
  • Meet all project deadlines including updates on websites
  • Communicate clearly as part of a project team that includes project managers, web designers 
    and others
  • Interact smoothly and effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Maintain departmental files, style guides, etc.
  • Keep accurate records and notes for easy access and reference
  • Present ideas to the team, as well as to agency partners and clients
  • Brainstorm ideas for and execute on provocative UI and creating compelling digital experiences

 Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of experience in front-end web development
  • Up to date with new and emerging HTML5/CSS3 techniques and best practices
  • Expert understanding of WordPress themes, plugins and creating custom post types
  • Familiarity with PHP, JavaScript and jQuery plugins
  • Knowledge of Bootstrap or other responsive frameworks
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Sketch
  • Familiarity with current web authoring tools
  • Ability to effectively hand-code sites
  • Up-to-date experience and knowledge of coding html emails
  • Knowledge of browser and client compatibility 
  • Enthusiasm and desire to continually learn more about front-end web development 
  • Excellent and demonstrated problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of user experience, site functionality, interaction, user interfaces, and navigation
  • Knowledge of on-page SEO best practices
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Experience developing for mobile and specifically responsive web design/development
  • Must be able to work from our office (not remotely)
  • Ability to work occasional evening hours
